Wire Sculpture
Wire Sculpture is a form of three-dimensional craftsmanship created by shaping and weaving metal wire entirely by hand. Using simple tools such as pliers and hand pressure, the artisan bends, twists, and interlocks strands of aluminum wire to build structure, movement, and fine detail.
Each sculpture develops gradually from a basic frame into a fully formed figure. Traditional motifs — such as the Chinese dragon — are shaped through layered lines that suggest scales, whiskers, claws, and flowing motion. The process requires balance, proportion, and careful control of tension in the wire.
Because every curve is formed manually, no two sculptures are identical. Subtle variations in line and structure reflect the individuality of the maker’s hand.
At Luminurea, wire sculpture combines traditional symbolism with contemporary craftsmanship — transforming simple metal wire into expressive, handcrafted form.
